The S&S CYCLE MR103 Chain Drive Camshaft Kit is designed to provide reliable easy start capability along with increased power across a broad RPM range for Twin Cam engines from 1999 to 2006, excluding the 2006 Dyna models. This kit features precision-engineered camshafts that reduce initial crank compression, making engine starts smoother and less strenuous. Once the engine reaches higher RPMs, the centrifugal compression release lobe retracts, allowing the engine to operate with full compression without any performance loss or engine stress. This design ensures a seamless transition from startup to high-performance operation, making it ideal for both street and performance applications.
The kit includes all necessary components for installation, such as camshafts, gearcover gasket, bearings, retaining ring, O-ring, thread lock, and detailed instructions. Crafted with high-quality materials and manufactured in the USA, these cams are suitable for stock un-ported heads and deliver improved power especially between 2,500 and 5,500 RPM. They are also compatible with S&S CNC ported heads, offering versatility for different build configurations.
Engineers and mechanics should verify coil bind, valve-to-valve, and valve-to-piston clearances during installation to ensure optimal performance and reliability. These cams are not recommended for models equipped with OEM compression releases.
