The S&S Cycle Easy Start Camshaft (Part #330-0438) is designed to facilitate effortless engine starting by initially reducing crank compression. When the engine reaches higher RPMs, the centrifugal retraction of the compression release lobe allows the engine to run normally with full compression, ensuring no performance loss. This high-lift camshaft is ideal for modified engines with 106 cubic inches or greater displacement and compression ratios between 10.0:1 and 11.0:1, delivering optimal power between 3,000 and 6,000 RPM. It includes essential components such as camshafts, a 4-gear set, gear cover gasket, bearings, retaining ring, O-ring, thread lock, and installation instructions, all manufactured in the USA. The camshaft is not a bolt-in part and is not compatible with OEM compression releases. It performs best with stock, un-ported heads, although S&S CNC ported heads are recommended for enhanced performance. To maximize durability and performance, high-lift valve springs, adjustable pushrods, and clearance checks are required. Due to the characteristics of gear drive systems, users may experience increased valve train noise, which is typical of this setup. This camshaft is engineered for Twin Cam models from 1999 through 2006, excluding the Dyna models of 2006, to provide reliable performance and improved starting capabilities for modified engines.
