The Alpinestars Tech-Air® 3 v2 Canvas Vest offers advanced rider protection with a fully autonomous active airbag system that requires no external sensors or connections. Featuring six integrated sensors—including three accelerometers and three gyroscopes—it provides optimal crash detection across various dynamic riding conditions, including when stationary. The system automatically activates via a magnetic zip closure, ensuring quick deployment in critical moments. Its packable design allows easy storage in backpacks, saddle bags, or panniers when not in use, making it a versatile safety device for motorcyclists. Constructed from durable stretch nylon canvas, the vest includes a ribbed bomber collar and elasticated side panels for a comfortable fit and expansion during riding. The center zipper, secured with internal magnetic snap buttons, keeps the chest bladder in place while riding and allows discreet concealment when not in use. The vest features multiple storage options, including two zippered hand pockets, two chest pockets with a sunglasses channel on the right side, and an inner concealed pocket for essentials. A waist loop enables attachment of gloves or other gear, enhancing convenience during rides. An integrated LED display on the front chest indicates the system’s operational status with clear visual cues and haptic vibration alerts to confirm the system is armed or to notify low battery levels. Powered by Alpinestars’ second-generation compact electronic control unit (ECU), the vest ensures reliable performance and can be monitored via Bluetooth LE 5.0 through the Tech-Air® App. Riders can easily check system status, battery life, and update software, which is accessible and upgradable through the app. The vest’s electronics are protected by an ECU seal, ensuring all-weather performance in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +40°C. The lithium-ion battery provides approximately 40 hours of use on a single charge, with a recharge time of about four hours. The gas inflator, housed on the lower back, supplies inflation for the airbag deployment and can be replaced by authorized Alpinestars dealers and service centers. The entire vest, including electronics, is washable once removed, maintaining its longevity and hygiene.
