The vest activates automatically via a magnetic zip closure, ensuring rapid deployment in the event of a fall or collision. Its packable design allows for easy storage in a backpack, saddle bag, or top case when not in use, making it an ideal choice for riders who value versatility and readiness. The outer shell, crafted from stretch nylon canvas, combines durability with comfort, featuring a ribbed bomber collar and elasticated side panels to accommodate movement and expansion during rides.
Designed with rider convenience and visibility in mind, the vest includes a discreet yet visible LED display on the front chest that indicates operational status and alerts through vibration. The system's electronic control unit (ECU), the Pro 2nd Generation, is housed in a dedicated pocket on the upper back, ensuring protection against all weather conditions, certified to operate between -20°C and +40°C. The vest's electronics are removable for easy maintenance and cleaning, and the gas inflator housing located on the lower back can be replaced by authorized dealers or Tech-Air Service Centers. Connectivity via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 5.0) allows riders to monitor system status, battery life, and software updates through the Alpinestars Tech-Air® app, which also provides ride mapping and software upgrade options.
The vest's certified lithium-ion battery offers up to 40 hours of use on a single charge, with a recharge time of approximately four hours.
