The Alpinestars Supertech R10 Helmet is engineered with advanced molding technology and a multi-composite outer shell that combines a 3K high-density carbon layer, a uni-directional carbon layer, aramid fibers, and fiberglass to deliver outstanding strength and energy dissipation. This layered composite construction, bonded with epoxy resin, ensures optimal resin-to-fiber ratio for enhanced mechanical performance and lightweight design, providing excellent energy management and limited outer shell deflection for better impact absorption. The high-strength outer shell distributes impact forces across a wider area, working seamlessly with the multi-density EPS liner to improve rider safety during collisions.
Inside, the helmet features four inner shells constructed to provide a precise fit, which enhances comfort, reduces weight, and maximizes impact effectiveness. The eight-piece multi-density EPS liner is strategically positioned with six specific densities designed to absorb impact forces effectively while maintaining a close, comfortable fit. The smooth, low-friction surface of the EPS liner is meticulously polished and coated to facilitate superior oblique impact management, helping mitigate rotational and oblique forces that could cause head, neck, or spinal injuries. This design also supports independent movement between the helmet and rider’s head, reducing the transmission of impact forces and the risk of concussion.
The Alpinestars Supertech R10 incorporates the innovative A-Head Fitment System, allowing riders to fine-tune the helmet’s height and tilt to achieve a personalized fit. This system ensures optimal helmet positioning for comfort and safety, accommodating individual head shapes and preferences. Aerodynamically, the helmet is developed with CFD simulations and validated through wind tunnel testing and on-track performance. It features two aerodynamic spoilers—a standard and a longer race version—both equipped with elastic joints that detach upon significant impact to reduce rotational energy transfer. Lateral winglets further enhance stability and aerodynamic efficiency, while turbulators on the visor improve aero-acoustic performance.
Ventilation is carefully designed with 11 intake and exhaust points, including chin, top, and rear ports. These ports are integrated directly into the shell with internal air ducts that channel airflow over and around the rider’s head, actively removing hot air and moisture through exhaust channels at the rear. The large top vent with a central slider allows for adjustable airflow, providing enhanced comfort during intense riding sessions. Chin vents, positioned at the front near the shield lock mechanism, facilitate laminar airflow to prevent fogging and misting, ensuring clear visibility at all times. The helmet’s overall design prioritizes rider safety, comfort, and aerodynamic performance, making it a top choice for competitive motorsport environments.
