Activation is automatic via a magnetic zip closure, ensuring the airbag deploys swiftly when needed. The vest features a discreet LED indicator on the front chest that displays operational status and provides haptic alerts through vibrations, confirming system arming and low battery warnings. The system's electronic components, including the Pro 2nd Generation ECU, are protected by seal-designs that enable all-weather operation from -20°C to +40°C.
The vest’s design includes two zippered hand pockets, two zippered chest pockets with a sunglasses channel on the right, and an inner concealed pocket for essentials. A waist loop allows attachment of gloves or other items, adding to its practicality. Bluetooth low energy (BLE 5.0) connectivity enables riders to monitor the system through the Alpinestars Tech-Air® App. The app provides real-time status updates on battery life, system health, and ride mapping via MyRide, with software updates accessible directly through the app for ongoing system improvements.
The integrated lithium-ion battery offers approximately 40 hours of use on a single charge and recharges in about 4 hours. The gas inflator housed on the left side of the lower back provides deployment inflation gas, and the entire inflator unit, wiring, and airbag are removable for maintenance or replacement at authorized service centers. The system is certified for all-weather performance, ensuring reliable operation across diverse riding environments. For cleaning, the leather vest should be treated with a leather cleaner to maintain its appearance and durability.
