The Alpinestars Tech-Air® 3 v2 Leather Vest offers advanced safety features combined with comfort and convenience for motorcycle riders. Equipped with the latest Tech-Air® 3 v2 system, this vest is a fully autonomous active airbag solution that requires no external sensors or connections on the motorcycle. The system incorporates six integrated sensors, including three accelerometers (one triaxial) and three gyroscopes (one triaxial), providing optimal crash detection in various riding conditions, even when stationary. The activation process is seamless, triggered automatically via a magnetic zip closure, with a discreet LED display on the front chest indicating operational status and battery life. The LED also features a haptic vibration alert to confirm system arming and low battery notifications.
The vest houses Alpinestars' Pro 2nd Generation compact Electronic Control Unit (ECU) in a dedicated pocket in the upper back, ensuring durable, all-weather performance certified to operate between -20°C and +40°C. The gas inflator, located on the left side of the lower back, supplies inflation gas for the airbags and can be replaced by authorized dealers. The electronic wiring and airbags are designed for easy removal and maintenance. The vest’s lithium-ion battery offers approximately 40 hours of operation per charge, with a recharge time around 4 hours. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 5.0) connectivity enables riders to monitor the system via the Alpinestars Tech-Air® App, which also supports firmware upgrades and detailed ride mapping through MyRide.
Additional features include multiple zippered pockets for storage, a sunglasses channel on the right chest, a waist loop for attaching gloves or accessories, and reflective inner backing for increased visibility in low light conditions. The vest can be cleaned with a leather cleaner if necessary, ensuring longevity and sustained performance.
