The Alpinestars Tech-Air® 3 v2 Canvas Vest offers advanced rider protection with a fully autonomous active airbag system that does not require external sensors or connections. Equipped with six integrated sensors, including three accelerometers—one triaxial—and three gyroscopes—one triaxial—the system continuously monitors crash dynamics in various riding scenarios, activating automatically even when stationary. The magnetic zip closure ensures quick and reliable deployment, providing peace of mind during every ride. Featuring a packable design, this vest can be easily stored in a backpack, saddlebag, top case, or pannier when not in use, making it a versatile choice for riders who value both protection and convenience. Constructed from durable stretch nylon canvas, the vest incorporates a ribbed bomber collar and elastic side panels for enhanced comfort and fit, adapting seamlessly to rider movements and body contours. The front center zipper, complemented by internal magnet snap buttons, keeps the chest bladder securely in place during riding and allows for discreet concealment when not in use. Multiple storage pockets—including two zippered hand pockets, two chest pockets with a sunglasses channel, and an inner concealed pocket—provide ample space for essentials, while a waist loop allows attachment of gloves or other accessories. A discreet yet visible LED display on the front chest indicates the system’s operational status, with reflective backing to improve visibility in low-light conditions. The LED also features a haptic alert to confirm the system is armed and to notify the rider of low battery status. The vest is powered by Alpinestars' Pro 2nd Generation compact ECU, housed in an upper back pocket, which connects via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 5.0) to the Tech-Air® App. This app enables real-time monitoring of system status, battery life, and ride mapping through MyRide. Software updates are easily performed via the app, ensuring the vest remains up-to-date with the latest features and protections. The integrated lithium-ion battery offers approximately 40 hours of operation and recharges in about four hours. The gas inflator housed on the lower back provides deployment gas for the airbag, with components that are easily removable and replaceable at authorized service centers. The ECU’s sealed design guarantees all-weather durability, functioning reliably between -20°C and +40°C. Maintenance includes washing the canvas vest with electronics removed, ensuring longevity and consistent performance.
