The Alpinestars Tech-Air® 3 v2 Canvas Vest offers advanced rider safety with a fully autonomous active airbag system that requires no external sensors or connections on your motorcycle. Equipped with six integrated sensors, including three accelerometers and three gyroscopes, the system provides superior crash detection performance across a variety of dynamic riding situations, even when stationary. The vest activates automatically via a magnetic zip closure, ensuring quick deployment when needed. Its packable design allows riders to easily store the vest in a backpack, saddlebag, or top case when not in use, making it a practical choice for everyday riders and touring enthusiasts alike. Constructed from durable stretch nylon canvas, the vest features a ribbed bomber collar and elasticated side panels for enhanced comfort and flexibility during rides. The central zipper is complemented by internal magnet snap buttons—one to secure the chest bladder in place during riding and another to fold and conceal the system when not in use.
The vest includes functional features such as two zippered hand pockets, two chest pockets with a sunglasses channel on the right chest pocket, and an inner concealed pocket for convenience. A waist loop is provided to attach gloves or other essential items, while a discretely hidden LED display on the front chest indicates the airbag system's operational status and incorporates a haptic vibration alert to confirm the system is armed or to notify low battery levels. The LED display's reflective backing enhances visibility in low-light conditions. The vest integrates Alpinestars' Pro 2nd Generation compact Electronic Control Unit (ECU), housed in the upper back pocket, which ensures reliable system operation. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 5.0) connectivity via the Tech-Air® App enables riders to monitor system status, battery life, and access ride maps through MyRide, with upgradable software available for future enhancements. The system's lithium-ion battery delivers approximately 40 hours of use and recharges in about four hours. The gas inflator, situated on the lower back, is easily removable and replaceable through authorized Alpinestars dealers and service centers, ensuring ongoing safety and maintenance. Certified for all-weather performance, the ECU seal protects the electronics against environmental elements, operating efficiently between -20°C and +40°C. The vest’s electronics are removable for washing, keeping the vest clean and comfortable.
