The S&S Cycle 106-5225 camshaft kit is engineered for effortless engine starting and optimized performance on Twin Cam models from 2007 to 2017 and Dyna models from 2006. This kit features a precision gear drive camshaft designed to reduce initial crank compression, enabling easier starts without sacrificing overall engine performance. Once the engine reaches higher RPMs, the centrifugal compression release lobe retracts seamlessly, allowing the engine to run with full compression and deliver maximum horsepower and torque. This design ensures smooth operation across a wide RPM range, specifically from 3,000 to 6,000 RPM for 88-103 CID engines and from 2,200 to 5,000 RPM for larger 106-124 CID engines, providing substantial power gains during high-speed riding. The kit includes all necessary components such as camshafts, gearcover gasket, bearings, retaining ring, o-ring, thread lock, and installation instructions, making it a comprehensive upgrade. Crafted in the USA, this bolt-in kit is built for durability and performance enhancement. Installation requires careful checking of coil bind, valve-to-valve, and valve-to-piston clearances to ensure optimal operation. Note that this kit is not suitable for models with OEM compression releases, making it ideal for riders seeking a straightforward upgrade for increased horsepower and torque at high RPMs.
