The rods feature crankpins manufactured from hot-rolled ASTM 4115 steel, which are case hardened to a level of 58-62 Rc, ensuring resistance to wear and fatigue under high loads.
These rods incorporate advanced caged needle roller bearing designs that enhance high rpm longevity, making them suitable for racing and rugged off-road use. The big end has a unique scalloping and vent slot configuration that minimizes bearing race distortion at elevated engine speeds, while the small ends are double drilled to supply additional lubrication and cooling to the wrist pin bearing. This is especially critical when the piston crown is close to the wrist pin bearing, preventing overheating and ensuring smooth operation.
Each rod is shot-peened to eliminate surface stress risers and to smoothly blend the forging’s radiuses, which contributes to improved fatigue strength. The double honing process creates an ultra-round bearing surface, delivering reliable performance at high rpm. Most assemblies are sold complete with the rod, crank pin, crank pin bearing, top-end bearing, and silver-coated bronze phosphor thrust washers, providing a comprehensive upgrade for your engine.
