The Alpinestars Tech-Air® v2 Off-Road System in black and red offers comprehensive upper body protection for off-road and street riders. This advanced system features an active airbag that inflates to protect the chest, back, shoulders, neck, and collarbones during a crash, providing peace of mind on challenging terrain. Integrated with an Alpinestars Off-Road Protection Jacket, it combines passive protection for the back and limbs with active airbag technology for full coverage against rocks, debris, and obstacles encountered on trails or urban streets. Built to withstand rugged conditions, the system is suitable for a variety of riding scenarios, including ENDURO, RALLY, and STREET modes, which can be easily navigated via the LED display or through the Tech-Air® app. The quick-release cover allows for rapid gas inflator replacement where permitted by local regulations, enhancing user convenience and safety.
Designed for durability and reliability, the Tech-Air® Off-Road System features dual charge capability with two gas inflators, ensuring two separate deployments during an incident. Its fully self-contained Electronic Control Unit (ECU), equipped with three accelerometers and gyroscopes, continuously monitors riding dynamics to optimize crash detection and airbag deployment. The system’s LED display, located on the front, provides intuitive control and status updates, including an integrated charging port for effortless recharging via USB-C. The built-in lithium-ion battery offers approximately 30 hours of use per charge, with a quick recharge time of about four hours, and one hour of charging provides roughly eight hours of riding time.
Activation is straightforward—simply zip up the jacket, and the system automatically powers on. When not in use, the system can be placed into shipping mode using a dedicated slide switch, which disconnects the battery for safe transportation. The electronic components, including the ECU and airbag, are removable for easy cleaning of the jacket and maintenance. The system is homologated for race use under FIM Cross Country Rally regulations, with inflation times averaging 52 milliseconds for rapid protection deployment. Its coverage and inflation design ensure neck, shoulder, and upper body safety, complying with strict safety standards while offering reliable performance in demanding off-road environments.
