The Alpinestars Tech-Air® 3 v2 Leather Vest offers advanced safety features designed for motorcycle riders seeking dependable protection. Crafted from softened cow leather with ribbed elasticated panels, this vest provides a comfortable fit while maintaining durability and style. The perforated panels on the upper chest and shoulders enhance airflow, ensuring comfort during extended rides. The vest features a center zipper with magnets and snap buttons that securely hold the chest bladder in place, while allowing easy folding and concealment when not in use.
Equipped with six integrated sensors—including three accelerometers and three gyroscopes—the Tech-Air® 3 v2 system delivers precise crash detection across various riding conditions, even when stationary. The system activates automatically via a magnetic zip closure, with an LED display on the front chest indicating operational status and low battery alerts. The LED is backed with reflective material for improved visibility, and a haptic vibration confirms system arming and alerts the rider about critical updates.
The vest includes multiple storage options such as two zippered hand pockets, two chest pockets with a sunglasses channel, and an inner concealed pocket, offering convenience for everyday riding essentials. An adjustable waist loop is provided to attach gloves or other gear. The electronic control unit (ECU), positioned in an upper back pocket, is the core of the system, featuring Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 5.0) connectivity for the Tech-Air® App. This app allows riders to monitor system status, battery life, and software updates, ensuring optimal performance at all times. The system's rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides up to 40 hours of use, with a quick recharge time of approximately 4 hours.
The gas inflator housing located on the lower back enables safe deployment of the airbag during a crash. Both the inflator and electronic wiring are easily removable, with replaceable canisters available through authorized Alpinestars service centers. The ECU’s seal protection guarantees all-weather operation within a temperature range of -20°C to +40°C, making it suitable for diverse riding environments. Maintenance is straightforward; the leather vest can be cleaned with a leather cleaner as needed, ensuring longevity and sustained appearance.
