The Alpinestars Tech-Air® 3 v2 Leather Vest offers advanced rider protection with its fully autonomous active airbag system, designed to operate independently without external sensors or connections. Equipped with six integrated sensors—including three accelerometers and three gyroscopes—it provides superior crash detection across a variety of riding scenarios, ensuring effective deployment whether on the move or stationary. The vest activates automatically via a magnetic zip closure, simplifying donning and removal while maintaining security during rides. Its packable design allows riders to store it conveniently in a backpack, saddle bag, or top case when not in use, making it a versatile safety solution for motorcyclists. Crafted from high-quality cow leather with a softening process for enhanced comfort, the vest features ribbed, elasticated side panels that adapt to rider movements and provide additional comfort and expansion. Perforated panels on the upper chest and shoulders ensure breathability during long rides, contributing to overall rider comfort. The vest features a center zipper with internal magnet snap buttons—one to hold the chest bladder securely during riding and another to fold it back for concealment when not in use. Multiple storage options include two zippered hand pockets, two zippered chest pockets with a sunglasses channel on the right side, and an inner concealed pocket, providing ample space for essentials. A waist loop facilitates attachment of gloves or other accessories, adding to the vest's practicality. An integrated LED display on the front chest, backed with reflective material, visually indicates the system's operational status and features a haptic vibration alert to confirm arming and notify the rider of low battery levels. The vest incorporates Alpinestars' second-generation Pro Electronic Control Unit (ECU), ensuring reliable crash monitoring and system management. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE 5.0) connectivity with the Tech-Air® App allows riders to monitor system health, battery life, and access ride data via MyRide, with software updates available for seamless system improvements. Powered by a certified lithium-ion battery, the vest provides approximately 40 hours of operation and recharges in around 4 hours. The gas inflator, housed on the left side of the lower back, supplies inflation gas for airbag deployment, and both the inflator and electronic components are easily removable for maintenance or replacement. The ECU seal protection ensures all-weather performance, with certified operation between -20°C and +40°C. For maintenance, the leather vest can be cleaned with a leather cleaner as needed, and the gas inflator canisters are replaceable through authorized Alpinestars dealers and service centers, maintaining the vest’s readiness for safety during every ride.
