The Alpinestars Tech-Air® 3 v2 Canvas Vest offers riders advanced safety with a fully autonomous active airbag system that requires no external connections or sensors. Equipped with six integrated sensors, including three accelerometers and three gyroscopes, the vest provides superior crash monitoring performance across various dynamic riding conditions and even when stationary. The system activates automatically via a magnetic zip closure, ensuring reliable deployment when needed. Its packable design allows for easy storage in a backpack, saddle bag, top case, or pannier when not in use, making it a convenient safety accessory for everyday riding or long trips.
Constructed from durable stretch nylon canvas, the vest features a ribbed bomber collar and elastic side panels for comfort and expansion. The front center zipper, coupled with internal magnet snap buttons, secures the chest bladder in place during rides and conceals it when not in use. Multiple storage options, including two zippered hand pockets, two chest pockets with a sunglasses channel, and an inner concealed pocket, provide practicality without compromising safety or comfort. An integrated LED display on the front chest indicates the system's operational status and includes a haptic alert that vibrates to confirm the system is armed or to warn of low battery levels. The discreetly positioned display enhances visibility while maintaining the vest’s sleek profile.
The vest incorporates Alpinestars' Pro 2nd Generation electronic control unit (ECU), located in an accessible pocket in the upper back. Bluetooth low energy (BLE 5.0) connectivity allows riders to monitor system status, battery life, and ride data via the dedicated Tech-Air® App, which also supports software upgrades and provides a detailed ride log. The integrated lithium-ion battery offers approximately 40 hours of operation and recharges in about four hours. The gas inflator, housed on the left side of the lower back, supplies inflation gas for airbag deployment and can be replaced by certified Alpinestars dealers or service centers. The ECU’s seal protection ensures reliable performance in all weather conditions, with operation certified between -20°C and +40°C. The electronics, inflator housing, and airbags are removable for maintenance or replacement, and the washable vest maintains its integrity when electronics are removed, offering both safety and convenience for riders seeking peace of mind on every journey.
