The Alpinestars Tech-Air® 3 is an advanced, lightweight airbag system designed for motorcycle riders seeking reliable protection during various riding conditions. This autonomous wearable tech can be worn over or under your motorcycle jacket, making it suitable for touring, urban commuting, and light off-road adventures. Equipped with AI technology, the Tech-Air® 3 uses an advanced crash detection algorithm that assesses real-time riding data to determine when to deploy the airbag, providing peace of mind without the need for external sensors or connections.
The system incorporates six integrated sensors, including three accelerometers (one triaxial) and three gyroscopes (one triaxial), which work together to monitor dynamic riding scenarios, even when the motorcycle is stationary. The LED display on the front chest indicates the system’s operational status and features a haptic alert—vibrations that confirm the system is armed and notify the rider of low battery levels. Developed and refined with over 2 million kilometers of riding data and more than 2,000 crash scenarios, the Alpinestars crash detection algorithm ensures swift and accurate deployment of the airbag in the event of a crash, such as a lowside or highside.
Once activated, the airbag inflates within milliseconds, covering the rider’s full chest and back to provide comprehensive upper body protection. An integrated back protector pocket allows for additional passive protection, enhancing safety during impact. Bluetooth connectivity enables seamless pairing with the Tech-Air® App, allowing riders to monitor system status, battery life, and view detailed ride maps via MyRide. The system is versatile, compatible with most leather and textile jackets that have enough space for the airbag’s inflation, and can be worn over or under your riding gear.
