The KB Performance Piston Kit is engineered from high-strength T-5 heat-treated 390 hypereutectic aluminum alloy, ensuring durability and longevity in demanding engine applications. Designed for a precise fit, these pistons enable a tighter assembly that reduces piston rock and enhances ring seal, contributing to improved engine performance and efficiency. Each piston is diamond-machined to strict tolerances, with weight matching within one gram and dimensional tolerances less than 0.0005 inches, ensuring smooth operation and balanced movement within the engine.
This kit includes two pistons, piston pins, spiral-lock pin clips, and Hastings moly rings (rings sold separately). The pistons are specifically calibrated for a 3.875-inch bore with a +0.005-inch oversize, providing a compression ratio of 9.3:1 suitable for 95-inch Twin Cam engines. Due to the thermal conductivity and design features of KB pistons, particular attention must be paid to the top ring end gap during installation; detailed instructions are provided to ensure correct ring installation and optimal performance. Proper piston clearance and ring gap are critical to prevent engine damage and maximize lifespan.
