Upgrade your engine's performance with the HASTINGS piston rings designed specifically for 3.875 inch bore engines with a +0.005 inch oversize, suitable for Twin Cam applications. These piston rings include top compression rings, second compression rings, and oil control rings, ensuring comprehensive sealing and efficient operation. The top compression rings feature a barrel face, which enhances heat transfer between the piston and cylinder wall, facilitating optimal thermal management and helping to maintain proper combustion chamber temperatures. By controlling combustion gases, these rings effectively transfer the energy generated during combustion to the crankshaft, improving engine power and efficiency. The second compression rings are equipped with a reverse torsional taper face that promotes side sealing, preventing oil from leaking under and behind the ring, which results in better oil economy and cleaner operation. Their reverse twist design and taper-machined ring face replicate the scraping edge of a positive twist torsional ring, aiding in effective debris removal from the cylinder walls. The oil control rings utilize a three-piece flex vent design, which allows the rails to be manufactured with a small cross-sectional area for better conformability to bore irregularities. This design ensures uniform pressure across four steel rails and two expanders, providing reliable and consistent oil control to prevent oil consumption and reduce emissions. Made in the USA, these rings are engineered to meet high-quality standards and durability. Due to the thermal conductivity and specific design of KB pistons, special attention must be given to the top ring end gap installation, so please refer to the instructions included with your piston for proper setup. The set includes enough rings for two pistons, with two rings per groove, except for the rails which come with two rail rings per one expander ring, ensuring a complete and ready-to-install set for your engine rebuild or upgrade.
