The ARAI HELMETS Contour-X Swirl Helmet in white offers a combination of advanced aerodynamics, safety, and rider comfort designed for touring enthusiasts. Its lightweight shell features Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate Construction (PB-cLc2), providing high strength while maintaining a sleek profile. The shell's organic shape is enhanced by a 5 mm flare around the opening, making it easier to put on and take off, especially for new users, without sacrificing the helmet’s snug fit and security. An extra layer of super fiber belting within the outer shell adds rigidity in critical areas, ensuring durability and impact resistance.
The helmet’s ventilation system includes a 3-position sliding chin vent with a replaceable filter, allowing riders to customize airflow efficiently for different weather conditions. The vent mechanism is designed for easy operation with gloves, supporting quick adjustments during rides.
A key feature is the integrated 3D Arai logo duct, which measures only 3.5 mm in depth and channels air through two central 10 mm intake ports. This duct functions optimally at low speeds and in an upright riding posture, and it can be opened or closed easily via a short-stroke lever located at the top. When the lever is not visible and the logo appears in its normal position, the duct is open, providing efficient airflow. The logo duct is engineered to break away upon impact, maintaining safety standards.
The helmet is equipped with an aerodynamic rear spoiler inspired by the DF-X2 Corsair-X, but redesigned for touring. It is mounted forward on the shell and fed by three ports, effectively drawing air and smoothing airflow over the helmet’s sides. This design reduces buffeting during high-speed overtaking, significantly lowering rider fatigue. The spoiler operates via a three-position switch (open, midway, closed), allowing riders to adjust airflow and stability as needed, with a breakaway feature for impact safety.
For communication setup, the helmet’s outer shell allows easy connection for intercom systems without compromising the protective inner EPS liner. A small stitched opening inside the neck roll provides a neat solution for routing excess wiring, ensuring a clean and streamlined appearance.
The helmet’s visor mounting system features the Variable Axis System (VAS), which lowers the visor position by approximately 24 mm across the temple areas. This adjustment enhances the helmet’s aerodynamic profile, improving energy deflection and reducing wind resistance.
