Featuring a low-profile 3D Arai logo duct with a depth of just 3.5 mm, this helmet efficiently feeds air through two central 10 mm intake ports, enhancing airflow without adding bulk. The logo duct is designed for ease of use at all speeds, allowing riders to open or close it effortlessly with gloves via a short-stroke lever positioned at the top. If the lever is not visible and the logo is in its normal position, the duct is open, providing optimal ventilation during rides. Designed to break away upon impact, this duct maintains safety without compromising structural integrity during a crash.
Enhanced aerodynamics are achieved with a one-piece rear spoiler inspired by the DF-X2 Corsair-X but tailored for touring purposes. Located slightly forward on the shell, the spoiler is fed by three ports that draw air efficiently, smoothing airflow over the helmet and reducing buffeting at highway speeds. This results in improved rider stability and less fatigue during long-distance rides. The spoiler is lightweight and designed to break away on impact, ensuring safety remains paramount. The helmet features a 3-position sliding chin vent with a large intake volume and a replaceable filter, operated easily with gloves. Its mechanism is thicker for better grip and control, allowing customization of airflow for different riding conditions.
The outer shell employs Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate Construction (PB-cLc2) for lightweight strength, with additional super fiber belting in critical areas to maintain rigidity. The shell's organic shape incorporates integrated side ducts for enhanced airflow and reduced turbulence. The Variable Axis System (VAS) allows the visor to be lowered by approximately 24 mm across the temple areas, improving aerodynamics and energy deflection. The shell flares 5 mm around the face opening, facilitating easier helmet donning and removal, especially for new users. An interior stitched opening on the neck roll provides space for wiring of communication systems, allowing easy installation and neat wiring management.
