The ARAI HELMETS Contour-X Helmet in Snake Red offers advanced aerodynamic features designed for touring riders seeking comfort and performance. Its lightweight construction utilizes Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate Construction (PB-cLc2), providing a durable yet sleek outer shell with integrated side ducts for optimal airflow management. The helmet's stylish, organic shape is enhanced by a Variable Axis System (VAS), which lowers the visor mounting position by approximately 24 mm, offering improved peripheral vision and a smoother profile that better deflects energy during impacts.
The helmet features a 3D Arai logo duct that is just 3.5 mm deep, designed to feed two central 10 mm intake ports. This duct is engineered to break away upon impact, ensuring safety without compromising structural integrity. An aerodynamic rear spoiler, inspired by the DF-X2 of the Corsair-X but redesigned for touring, works with three ports in the shell to effectively draw air and smooth airflow around the helmet, reducing buffeting and rider fatigue at highway speeds. The spoiler is a one-piece exhaust/spoiler assembly operated via a 3-way switch, allowing easy opening or closing with gloves through a short-stroke lever located on top, which is visible when the duct is open.
The helmet's ventilation system includes a sliding chin vent with three positions—open, midway, and closed—allowing substantial airflow with a replaceable filter for added comfort. The thicker, glove-friendly sliding mechanism ensures ease of use in various weather conditions. For communication system integration, the outer shell is designed with flat sides and an extra layer of super fiber belting that maintains shell rigidity while facilitating easy installation of intercom systems without sacrificing protection. Additionally, a small stitched opening inside the neck roll allows discreet cable management, keeping wiring tidy and out of sight.
For a comfortable fit, the shell flares 5 mm around the opening, simplifying donning and removal even for new users.
