The ARAI HELMETS Contour-X Helmet in Snake Red offers advanced aerodynamic features and superior safety for touring riders. Its lightweight shell is constructed using Peripherally Belted Complex Laminate Construction (PB-cLc2), providing a strong yet minimal profile that reduces fatigue during long rides. The rear spoiler, inspired by the DF-X2 of the Corsair-X but redesigned for touring, is a one-piece exhaust/spoiler operated by a 3-way switch, allowing easy adjustment with gloves. Positioned slightly forward on the shell, the spoiler draws air efficiently, smoothing airflow over the helmet and reducing buffeting at highway speeds, which significantly lessens rider fatigue during extended rides.
The helmet includes a sliding chin vent with three adjustable positions—open, midway, and closed—allowing large volume airflow with a replaceable filter, and a thicker actuating mechanism designed for glove use. The outer shell’s sleek, organic shape complements its aerodynamic functions, while the variable axis visor mounting system (VAS) lowers the visor position by approximately 24 mm for better peripheral vision and energy deflection. A small stitched opening inside the neck roll provides an easy route for managing wiring from communication systems, with the shell flare increasing by 5 mm around the opening for easier helmet donning and removal.
