The Alpinestars SM7 Helmet is specifically engineered for off-road racing, offering a lightweight design combined with superior ventilation and impact protection. Its aerodynamic composite shell features a smooth, streamlined profile that minimizes external load points, reducing the risk of impact-related injuries. The curvature of the shell promotes reduced friction upon impact, allowing for effective energy deflection to safeguard the rider’s head, neck, and spine.
Designed with rider comfort and customization in mind, the SM7 helmet includes 20 ventilation ports—13 intake and 7 exhaust—to ensure optimal airflow during intense activities. The fit can be tailored further using interchangeable cheek pads available in various thicknesses, compatible across all shell sizes. Additionally, the helmet features a cutaway section on the left side to accommodate communication systems, with built-in earphone recesses for seamless speaker integration.
The helmet's construction incorporates removable, washable linings treated with antimicrobial fabrics for enhanced hygiene. The crown and neck pads are elastically connected to improve impact management, while the top pad is adjustable in height via the A-head system for a personalized fit. Cheek pads, made from 3D foam with an emergency extraction system, include channels for hydration tubes and are interchangeable among all sizes. The chin strap utilizes a 25 mm nylon strap with stainless steel DD rings and removable covers for easy cleaning.
Safety features include a visor detaching system designed to release the visor upon impacts exceeding 15 Joules, preventing additional injury. The helmet incorporates Alpinestars’ PLASMA technology—integrated into the side pads—for enhanced shock absorption, significantly reducing injury risk during impacts.
