Fork Seals, Bushings

Fork Seals, Bushings & Kits

Stop oil leaks from ruining your front brake pads and restore ultra-smooth tracking with premium motorcycle fork seals, dust wipers, and complete bushing rebuild kits. A blown fork seal allows hydraulic fluid to spray across your front chassis, while admitting abrasive trail grit into your inner chrome tubes. Protect your suspension investment with our collection of high-density dual-lip oil seals, heavy-duty rubber dust wipers, and low-friction teflon-coated inner and outer fork bushings designed to minimize stiction and ensure leak-free operation.

What causes a motorcycle fork seal to fail and begin leaking oil?

Fork seals typically fail when fine trail dust, mud crust, or insect debris dries onto the inner chrome fork leg and slides past the outer dust wiper. This abrasive debris micro-tears the sharp rubber sealing lip of the inner oil seal during deep compressions. Additionally, tying down a bike too tightly in a trailer for extended periods can over-pressurize the forks and induce seal leakage.

Why is it important to replace fork guide bushings during a seal service?

Inner and outer fork guide bushings feature thin teflon coatings that keep the inner and outer fork tubes aligned without binding. As this coating wears away, it introduces microscopic lateral play or wobble into the fork assembly. This wobble forces the fork tube to press unevenly against the rubber oil seal, causing brand-new seals to fail prematurely if old bushings are reused.
