The S&S CYCLE HPT496 Gear Drive Camshaft is designed to deliver significant performance improvements for M8 engines. Engineered as a bolt-in cam, it simplifies installation while maximizing power and torque gains. Featuring wider lobes and altered valve timing compared to stock cams, this camshaft enhances airflow and combustion efficiency, resulting in improved engine responsiveness and overall performance. It is compatible with stock valve springs when used with OEM rocker arms, making it an excellent upgrade for existing engine setups without the need for additional modifications. The HPT496 camshaft is suitable for motors up to 11.0:1 compression ratio, providing reliable performance enhancements within this range. However, it is not recommended for VVT (Variable Valve Timing) engines, ensuring optimal operation within the specified parameters.
