The ProTaper Yamaha YZ65 Rear Aluminum Sprocket - 47 Teeth - Black is a 47-tooth rear sprocket built specifically for the 2018 to 2026 Yamaha YZ65. ProTaper makes it from 7075-T6 heat-treated billet aluminum with a hard coat and a deep anodized finish that resists corrosion and wear. The teeth feature an angled mud groove on both sides that sheds mud during riding, which ProTaper says increases tooth surface area by up to 40% compared to competing sprockets for better chain contact and longer sprocket life. Countersinks in the sprocket automatically center it to the hub at installation, so no separate hub center guide is needed.
A larger rear sprocket like this 47-tooth unit lowers overall gearing, which sharpens acceleration off the line and out of corners at the cost of some top-end speed.
