The ProTaper Honda CRF450R Rear Aluminum Sprocket - 49 Teeth - Black is a Race Spec (RS) rear sprocket cut from 7075-T6 heat-treated billet aluminum and CNC-machined in the USA, finished with a deep-penetrating anodized coating that resists corrosion and wear. ProTaper's angled mud grooves, machined into both sides of every tooth, shed mud during riding rather than letting it pack in, and that geometry also increases tooth surface area by up to 40% compared to competing sprockets for better chain contact and longer sprocket life. Built-in countersinks center the sprocket to the hub automatically on installation, no separate hub center guide required. This sprocket fits a wide range of Honda dirt bikes and dual-sports, from the CRF450R to the CR125R and beyond.
A 49-tooth rear sprocket raises gearing compared to a smaller rear sprocket, which means more top-end speed potential and less acceleration snap off the bottom. Swapping to a larger rear sprocket would shift the trade-off the other way.
