ProTaper SE XR50/CRF50 Handlebar

The ProTaper SE XR50/CRF50 Handlebar is a 7/8 in. aluminum handlebar built for riders who want solid, predictable feedback from their controls. ProTaper makes it from a proprietary 2000-series T6 aluminum alloy and puts the bar through shot peening, stress relieving, and anodizing to harden the finish. The crossbar is cold-forged aluminum, and its clamps are CNC-machined from 6061 aluminum and bonded with an aerospace-grade polymer. Knurling on the clutch side helps keep grips locked in place, and the chemically applied graphics resist scratching and peeling.

This bar has 152mm of rise and 44mm of sweep. That amount of rise brings the grips up noticeably above the clamp, which tends to suit riders who spend time standing or who prefer a more upright posture. The 44mm sweep angles the grips back toward the rider at a moderate degree, keeping the wrists in a fairly relaxed position without pulling them too far rearward. At 724mm wide with 161mm of control area on each side, the bar gives good leverage and enough straight section to position levers and switches without crowding.
