Some shocks in this series are approved for road use; please refer to the latest certification for current compliance. Multiple style options are available, including full show-chrome or black covers, as well as chrome or black springs and end caps, allowing you to match your bike's aesthetic.
Installation considerations include potential modifications when installing on '86-'15 XL models, such as adjusting or spacing the chain or belt guard for proper clearance. Slight variations in shock length—either longer or shorter than stock—may influence steering characteristics, with longer shocks offering quicker steering and shorter ones providing a more relaxed feel. Heavy-duty applications are recommended for bikes operated near maximum load ratings over 50% of the time. Prior to installation, confirm that your wheel travel and clearance are adequate to prevent contact issues with exhaust systems, swingarm, axle, chain or belt guards, and tires, especially when choosing shocks different from the OEM length.
