The Motul 5100 4T Synthetic Blend Oil 10W-40 4L is a synthetic blend four-stroke engine oil built around Motul's Ester Technology, which the company says improves engine response. It carries an SL API rating, the newest rating listed for this product, and its low sulfur and phosphorus formulation makes it suited to bikes fitted with catalytic converters. Motul also includes a proprietary extreme pressure formula aimed at protecting the gearbox.

This oil is a 10W-40 grade, meaning 10W is its cold-weather rating and 40 is its rating at operating temperature. Match the grade to whatever your service manual specifies. The 4L bottle is enough for a full oil change on many four-stroke engines, and Motul recommends this product for all four-stroke engines.
