The Motul 5100 4T Synthetic Blend Oil 10W-30 4L is a synthetic blend 4-stroke engine oil built around Motul's Ester Technology, which the company says improves engine response. It carries an SL API rating, the newest rating available for engines equipped with catalytic converters, and uses a low sulfur and phosphorus formula suited to those applications. A proprietary extreme pressure formula is included to protect the gearbox.

This oil is graded 10W-30, meaning the 10W indicates its cold-weather flow rating while the 30 describes its viscosity at operating temperature. Match the grade to whatever your service manual specifies. The 4-litre bottle is enough for most full oil changes on larger 4-stroke engines and is recommended by Motul for all 4-stroke engines. Riders running bikes fitted with catalytic converters will find the low sulfur and phosphorus content directly relevant.
