The KB Performance Piston Kit KB258.020 is designed for 80" Evolution Big Twin engines, providing reliable performance with precision engineering. Crafted from high-strength T-5 heat-treated 390 hypereutectic aluminum alloy, these pistons offer enhanced durability, allowing for a tighter fit and longer piston and ring lifespan. The diamond-machined pistons are meticulously held to a weight variation of plus or minus one gram and maintain less than 0.0005 inches in tolerances from piston to piston, ensuring consistent performance across the engine.
Each kit includes two pistons, pins, spiral-lock pin clips, and Hastings moly rings, offering a comprehensive upgrade for your engine. Replacement rings and pin lock rings are available separately to facilitate maintenance or further customization. KB pistons are engineered to be installed tighter than standard pistons, resulting in reduced piston rock and improved ring seal, which contributes to better compression and overall engine efficiency. Proper piston clearance, as detailed in the included instructions, is critical for optimal operation.
Due to the superior thermal conductivity and specific design features of KB pistons, special attention must be given to the top ring end gap during installation.
