The JE Pistons Piston Kit designed for Polaris RZR XP1000, General 1000, and RS1 models features advanced manufacturing technology aimed at maximizing engine performance and durability. Aligned Grain Flow Technology ensures that the grain structure of the aluminum flows around critical areas of the piston, enhancing strength and fatigue resistance under high-stress conditions. This proprietary forging process allows for better load distribution and increased longevity in both naturally aspirated and forced induction engines. Lateral gas ports are strategically positioned to direct combustion gases to the back of the top ring groove, increasing pressure behind the compression ring and ensuring a more consistent and reliable seal, which is especially important in boosted applications. The piston’s ultra-thick ring lands help maintain stability of the rings under high horsepower and forced induction, providing consistent power output over time.
The piston crown is coated with a thermal barrier ceramic finish, significantly reducing heat transfer into the piston material. This feature minimizes thermal fatigue and extends the life of the piston during demanding riding conditions. Additionally, the proprietary moly-based dry film skirt coating reduces friction between the piston and cylinder wall, improving wear resistance and overall engine efficiency. An accumulator groove adds volume below the top ring to trap unwanted gases, helping maintain optimal pressure and ring seal. Proper lubrication is ensured through two oil channels fed directly into the wrist pin bore, which helps to reduce wear on the wrist pin and pin bore. The complete kit includes all necessary components — pistons, rings, wrist pins, and wire locks — making installation straightforward. Upgraded 9310 alloy wrist pins are stronger and thicker, designed to withstand the increased loads associated with high-performance applications, ensuring durability and reliability in demanding riding conditions.
