HOT RODS KTM 8111 Connecting Rod Kit – Heavy-Duty OE Replacement with Certified 8620 AISI Steel
Upgrade your KTM engine with the HOT RODS KTM 8111 Connecting Rod Kit, designed for high-performance applications and built to meet or exceed OEM standards. Crafted from certified 8620 AISI steel, these connecting rods offer superior strength and durability essential for demanding conditions. The crankpins are manufactured from hot-rolled ASTM 4115 steel and are case hardened to 58-62 Rc, ensuring excellent wear resistance and longevity. Featuring the latest caged needle roller bearing designs, this kit provides high RPM durability, making it suitable for racing or high-performance street use. The uniquely designed big end incorporates strategically placed side scalloping and vent slots to minimize bearing race distortion at elevated engine speeds, thus enhancing reliability during extended high RPM operation. The small ends are double drilled to supply extra lubrication and cooling to the wrist pin bearing, which is especially critical when the piston crown is in close proximity to the wrist pin. Shot-peened to eliminate surface stress risers and to smooth the radiuses of the rod forging, these connecting rods offer improved fatigue life and structural integrity. Double honing ensures an ultra-round bearing surface, further contributing to high RPM reliability. Most assemblies are sold complete with the rod, crank pin, crank pin bearing, top-end bearing, and silver-coated bronze phosphor thrust washers, providing a comprehensive upgrade for your engine. Made in the USA, these connecting rods are compatible with Hot Rods and OE crankshafts, making them an ideal choice for engine builds or rebuilds requiring robust, high-performance connecting components.
