The second compression rings employ a reverse torsional taper face, which promotes side sealing, prevents oil from leaking under and behind the rings, and contributes to better oil economy. The reverse twist combined with the taper-machined ring face mimics the bottom side scraping edge of a positive twist torsional ring, ensuring optimal sealing performance. The oil control rings utilize a three-piece flex vent design, allowing for a small cross-sectional area that conforms better to the bore surface.
