The Fly Racing Formula S Carbon Byte Helmet combines lightweight design with cutting-edge safety features for optimal protection during high-performance riding. Crafted from a 12K carbon fiber shell, this helmet offers superior penetration resistance while maintaining an incredibly light weight, ensuring comfort for extended use. The expanded volume EPS and EPP chin bar work together to absorb impacts more effectively, reducing the forces transmitted to your head and neck during a crash. Additionally, the Clavicle Shell Relief Zone and Conehead® EPS Technology contribute to enhanced impact management across critical zones, providing comprehensive protection against both low-speed and high-speed impacts.
Equipped with Quin® Race Sensor technology, the helmet features five scientific-grade sensors that constantly evaluate data during rides and can automatically detect crash events. In such cases, the Fly Smart App records impact data, contacts emergency contacts, and, for APEX subscribers, dispatches local emergency services through a 5-diamond level monitoring center. The integrated SOS Beacon allows users to alert emergency contacts and services by tapping the helmet five times when in need of assistance while on the move. The helmet's impact detection system is complemented by integrated LED lights that flash red during a crash, providing visual alerts to nearby individuals.
Connectivity is seamless with Bluetooth 5.0, allowing pairing with the Fly Smart App for live ride analytics, GPS tracking, speed, accelerations, and Q-Score data. Wireless updates ensure the helmet stays current with the latest developments from Fly Racing and Quin®. The rechargeable battery offers up to 60 days of use on a single charge, with a two-hour fast charge mode via Micro USB, and features automatic sleep and wake functions to conserve power. Ventilation is optimized through True Functional Ventilation (TFV), with multiple intake and exhaust vents facilitating airflow to keep riders cool. The helmet also includes a premium helmet garage, extra visor, washable moisture-wicking, antimicrobial comfort liner, and quick-release cheek pads for easy maintenance.
The design incorporates custom molded rubber trim with an integrated nose guard and a soft impact-absorbing EPP chin bar to enhance impact mitigation. The lightweight construction, weighing approximately 2.8 pounds in medium/large sizes, ensures minimal fatigue during extended rides, while the six critical zones have been fine-tuned for a progressive response to impacts, providing comprehensive protection in an array of riding conditions.
