The ARAI Helmets Corsair-X Tatsuki helmet in size XL combines innovative engineering with high-performance safety features designed for serious riders. The helmet features a VAS shield mechanism that allows for easy shield changes, thanks to a dual-function lever that simultaneously releases the side cover and shield pin. This design ensures quick and effortless shield removal, making maintenance and adjustments straightforward for the rider. The VAS mechanism incorporates a variable axis with a moving pivot point, enabling the shield to open and close smoothly even with a lower shield mount position, enhancing rider comfort and usability. The larger shield latch not only simplifies operation but also includes a de-mist function, ensuring clear visibility in various weather conditions. Additionally, the latch securely holds the shield closed during rides, preventing accidental openings that could compromise safety.
The helmet's design emphasizes safety during impact with its glance-off ability, featuring a smaller, lower VAS pivot cover and a smooth shell along the SNell test line at the temple area. This configuration improves the helmet’s ability to glance off objects during a crash, reducing the risk of injury. The PB-SNC² shell is constructed from super fiber and synthetic fibers, offering a lightweight yet durable shell with high tensile strength and flexibility. This advanced shell material ensures optimal protection without adding unnecessary weight, allowing for extended riding comfort. Ventilation is managed through the Diffuser Type 12 air intake vents, which have three adjustable positions to improve sealing, thereby reducing road noise and water intrusion and maintaining a comfortable interior environment.
The interior liner is fully removable and odor-resistant, helping to maintain a neutral pH level close to the skin for enhanced hygiene. The soft frame material provides additional comfort and features removable temple padding and a replaceable crown pad, allowing riders to customize the fit to their preferences. The VAS Max-V (BV) shield offers a wide field of view suitable for all seasons and riding conditions, with a standard clear Pinlock® insert included for fog prevention. The helmet also includes the IC Duct5 air intake duct, which offers three positions for airflow management, is easier to open, and helps limit water intrusion when fully closed, ensuring optimal visibility and comfort during all weather scenarios.
