The ARAI HELMETS Corsair-X Helmet features an innovative VAS shield mechanism that enhances ease of use and safety. The transparent shield allows for quick visual inspection of the mechanism, facilitating fast shield changes. The dual-function lever simultaneously releases the side cover and shield pin, streamlining removal and replacement. The VAS mechanism employs a variable axis with a moving pivot point, ensuring smooth operation even at a lower shield mount position by combining the pin trajectory with the double pivot point slot's trajectories. This design provides reliable, effortless opening and closing of the shield. The integrated shield latch securely holds the shield in place, preventing accidental openings and incorporating a de-mist function for clear visibility. Its larger size and intuitive operation improve handling, making it user-friendly during rides or quick adjustments. The Glance-Off ability is enhanced by a smaller, lower VAS pivot cover and a smooth shell along the SNell test line in the temple area, reducing the risk of helmet snagging or catching during an impact. Constructed from the PB-SNC² shell material, the helmet offers high tensile strength and flexibility while maintaining a lightweight profile for rider comfort. The shell's durable construction ensures safety without adding unnecessary weight. Ventilation is improved through the Diffuser Type 12 air intake vents, which feature three adjustable positions to optimize airflow, reduce road noise, and prevent water intrusion. The odor-resistant liner is fully removable, helping to maintain a neutral pH environment close to the skin for enhanced comfort and hygiene. The soft frame material includes removable temple padding and a replaceable crown pad, allowing for a customizable fit tailored to individual preferences. The VAS Max-V (BV) shield offers broad visibility suitable for all riding conditions, with a standard Pinlock® insert included for fog prevention. Additionally, the IC Duct5 provides effective airflow management and features a three-position switch that is easier to operate while limiting water entry when fully closed, ensuring comfort and safety in various weather conditions.
