The boots feature a sophisticated heel counter support system that, in conjunction with a strap closure, improves fit, structural integrity, and lateral support. The rear of the heel counter includes a soft Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) insert that works seamlessly with the flex zone to allow for greater ankle mobility and comfort when operating bike controls. Additionally, the rear flex bellow with an integrated flex window acts as an effective air intake, promoting airflow and ventilation to keep your feet cool and dry.
For durability and precise control, the Stella SMX-1R V2 incorporates a new ergonomic Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) shift pad, positioned in a critical area to withstand impacts and abrasion. The boots' forefoot has been streamlined with an ergonomic shape that accommodates a wide range of foot profiles, ensuring a secure fit with excellent comfort. The evolved closure system includes an anatomically angled strap that follows the natural shape of the rider’s instep, secured with a quick-release Velcro® system featuring a TPR puller for ease of use. Aramidic fiber wires reinforce the strap closure, making it lightweight, durable, and resistant to wear. The sole is made from Alpinestars' exclusive compound rubber with a grip pattern that enhances feel, traction, and durability. An integrated Transversal Protection Frame (TPF) within the sole helps protect against transversal loads, adding to the overall safety.
The instep and Achilles’ flex zones are constructed from lightweight microfiber, providing flexibility, durability, and maneuverability both on and off the bike. Thermowelded flex grooves throughout the boots facilitate controlled flexion, contributing to rider comfort. The reverse zip closure offers quick and easy entry and removal, while a double density ankle protector layered under the upper provides abrasion resistance and impact protection. An integrated, replaceable bi-injected TPU forefoot slider features a user-friendly screw fixing system for straightforward replacement. External high-modulus TPU components, including the heel counter, lateral ankle, and shift pad, enhance shock absorption and durability. The internal toe box protection layer adds durability and improves overall feel. The removable anatomic foot-bed, made with EVA foam and Lycra®, offers additional support and comfort.
