Designed specifically for off-road racing enthusiasts, the Alpinestars SM7 helmet combines superior ventilation, lightweight comfort, and advanced impact protection. Its aerodynamic composite shell features a smooth, streamlined profile that minimizes external load points and enhances overall durability. The shell's curvature promotes reduced friction during impact, enabling effective energy deflection to safeguard the rider's head, neck, and spinal column. Equipped with 20 individual intake and exhaust ports—13 intakes and 7 exhausts—the helmet ensures optimal airflow to keep the rider cool during intense off-road activity. The advanced ventilation system prevents heat buildup, reducing fatigue and enhancing focus throughout the race.
The SM7's comfort and customization are further enhanced by interchangeable cheek pads available in various thicknesses, allowing a tailored fit for all users. A cutaway section on the left side of the EPS layer seamlessly accommodates communication systems, complete with earphone recesses on both sides for speaker installation. The removable and washable linings, treated with antimicrobial fabrics, maintain hygiene and freshness over prolonged use. The crown pad and neck pad are elastically connected to improve impact management at oblique angles, while the adjustable top pad with the A-Head system allows users to customize helmet height for optimal comfort.
Safety features are integrated throughout, including a visor detaching system that releases upon high-impact forces exceeding 15 Joules, offering reliable impact mitigation. The visor itself is engineered to detach automatically, preventing injury from debris or secondary impacts. Strategically placed PLASMA technology within the side pads provides high-performance shock absorption, reducing injury risk in the collarbone area. The chin strap, fitted with a 25 mm nylon strap, stainless steel DD rings, and removable covers, ensures secure fit and easy maintenance.
