The ProTaper KTM 65 SX Rear Aluminum Sprocket - 48 Teeth - Black is a Race Spec (RS) rear sprocket cut from 7075-T6 heat-treated billet aluminum and CNC-machined in the USA, built for small-bore off-road riders who want longer sprocket life and consistent chain contact. ProTaper's angled mud grooves run on both sides of every tooth, creating a self-cleaning action that sheds mud during riding and increases tooth surface area by up to 40% compared to competing sprockets. Countersinks in the sprocket body automatically center it to the hub on installation, so no separate hub center guide is needed. It fits the KTM 65 SX and also covers the Husqvarna TC65, Gas Gas MC 65, KTM 60 SX, KTM 65 XC, and Triumph TF 250-X.
Fitting a larger rear sprocket like this 48-tooth unit lowers your overall gearing, which sharpens throttle response and improves acceleration out of corners at the cost of some top-end speed.
