The ProTaper KTM 250 SX Rear Aluminum Sprocket - 53 Teeth - Black is a 53-tooth rear sprocket built from heat-treated 7075-T6 billet aluminum and CNC-machined in the USA. ProTaper's Race Spec series uses an angled mud groove cut into both sides of every tooth, which helps shed mud during riding and increases tooth surface area by up to 40% compared to competing sprockets, resulting in better chain contact and longer sprocket life. A deep anodized black finish resists corrosion and wear, and countersinks built into the sprocket automatically center it to the hub on installation without needing a separate hub center guide. This sprocket fits a wide range of KTM and Husqvarna off-road and motocross machines.
A larger rear sprocket like this 53-tooth unit lowers your overall gearing, which sharpens acceleration off the line and out of corners at the expense of top-end speed.
