The ProTaper 428MX1 Gold Series Master Link is a replacement master link for ProTaper's 428MX1 chain, finished in gold and built to match the same chromoly construction that runs through the full 428MX1 series. ProTaper designed the 428MX1 line around smaller-displacement motocross machines, carrying over the same technology found in their larger 520 MX chain. It suits riders running 428-pitch chains on up-to-125cc bikes who need a proper replacement link rather than a workaround.

This master link is 428 pitch, so it is only compatible with other 428-pitch chain and sprocket combinations. It is a single connecting link, not a full chain, and is sized to join or replace the master link on an existing 428MX1 run.
