The Alpinestars Tech-Air® 3 Utility Vest in black, size XL, is a state-of-the-art active airbag system designed to provide comprehensive rider protection without the need for external sensors or connections. This fully autonomous system seamlessly integrates six embedded sensors—comprising three accelerometers including a triaxial accelerometer and three gyroscopes including a triaxial gyroscope—to monitor dynamic riding conditions and automatically deploy in the event of a crash. The vest's innovative design ensures activation even when stationary, thanks to a magnetic zip closure that triggers the airbag deployment instantly. Powered by Alpinestars’ Pro 2nd Generation compact electronic control unit (ECU), the vest features Bluetooth low energy (BLE 5.0) connectivity to the Tech-Air® App, enabling riders to monitor system health, battery life, and access detailed ride data via MyRide. The software is upgradable through the app, ensuring the system remains current with the latest features and updates. The integrated lithium-ion battery offers approximately 40 hours of use on a full charge, with a recharge time of about four hours. The gas inflator, located in the lower back, provides the inflation gas for deployment and is easily replaceable by authorized technicians or service centers. Designed to perform reliably across temperatures from -20°C to +40°C, the vest’s ECU seal protection guarantees all-weather durability, and all electronic components—including the inflator housing and wiring—are removable for maintenance or cleaning.
