Twin Air Backfire Air Filter with Cage - KTM 690 SMC-R 2008-2024

Twin Air Backfire Air Filter with Cage - KTM 690 SMC-R 2008-2024 uses a dual-bonded foam construction that traps even the finest dirt particles while flowing more air than filters built from two separate foam layers, a result confirmed on a flow bench. It sits slightly smaller than the stock filter, which makes installation easier and opens up extra dead air space around the filter for better performance. A flat foam sealing ring runs along its edge to hold a tight seal against the air box even when conditions get rough. The filter comes fitted to its cage for a ready-to-install setup.

Foam air filters are serviced rather than replaced on a fixed schedule, so how long one lasts depends on the conditions you ride in. Clean it with a dedicated filter cleaner, let it dry completely, then re-oil before fitting. Many riders keep a second filter on the shelf so a freshly oiled one is always ready.
