The ProTaper Pro Series Forged 520 Slim O-Ring Chain Link is a replacement master link built to match ProTaper's Pro Series 520 chain. ProTaper cold-forges the pin collars directly into the outer plate, a manufacturing approach they say is new to the off-road chain market, which lets them reduce plate thickness without giving up tensile strength. The link carries the same Slim O-Ring seal as the chain itself, so lubrication retention stays consistent across the full assembly.

This link is sized for 520-pitch chains, so the sprocket and countershaft sprocket must also be 520-pitch for the drivetrain to align correctly. The O-ring seal traps lubricant inside each link joint, which reduces the frequency of re-lubing and slows wear over time.
