The ProTaper Honda CR80R Rear Aluminum Sprocket - 49 Teeth - Black is a 49-tooth rear sprocket made from 7075-T6 heat-treated billet aluminum and CNC-machined for the CR80R, CR80RB Expert, CR85R, CR85RB Expert, CRF150R, and CRF150R Expert. ProTaper's Race Spec series uses an angled mud groove cut into both sides of every tooth, which sheds mud during riding and increases tooth surface area by up to 40% compared to competing sprockets, extending chain contact and sprocket life. Built-in countersinks center the sprocket to the hub automatically during installation, so no separate hub center guide is needed. A deep-penetrating anodized finish rounds out the design, protecting against corrosion and improving wear resistance, and the sprocket is made in the USA.
A larger rear sprocket like this 49-tooth unit lowers overall gearing, which shortens the time it takes to build speed out of corners and through tight sections at the cost of some top-end speed.
