ProTaper EVO SX Race Handlebar - Magnesium

The ProTaper EVO SX Race Handlebar - Magnesium is ProTaper's flagship unbraced handlebar, built from a proprietary 7000 series aluminum alloy with a 4mm wall and a shot peened, stress relieved, and anodized finish. ProTaper states the EVO design is up to 25% lighter and 45% stronger than competing handlebars, and independent lab testing shows it outlasts every other handlebar on the market in fatigue life. The unbraced construction allows more flex and impact absorption than a conventional handlebar, which ProTaper says improves comfort and reduces fatigue without giving up strength. At 1.4 lbs. (640 g), it is a solid choice for riders who want a light, durable bar without a crossbar.

This bar has a 54.5mm rise, which lifts the grip area a moderate amount above the clamp and suits riders who prefer a more upright position, whether seated or standing. The 54mm sweep angles the grips back toward the rider at a comfortable degree, keeping wrists in a relaxed, natural position rather than a straight, neutral one. At 800mm wide, it provides good leverage and can be trimmed down if needed, and the 195mm control area gives plenty of straight section for positioning levers and switches.
