Twin Air Standard Air Filter - KTM 450 XC-W 2011-2016 relies on a dual-bonded foam construction that Twin Air says captures even the smallest dirt particles while flowing more air than filters built from two separate foam layers, a result they back with flow bench testing. Twin Air also sizes this filter slightly smaller than the stock piece, which makes it easier to install and remove while opening up extra dead air space for improved performance. A flat foam sealing ring runs around the filter to hold a tight seal against the airbox, even when conditions get rough.

Foam air filters are serviced rather than replaced on a fixed schedule, so how long one lasts depends on the conditions you ride in. Clean it with a dedicated filter cleaner, let it dry completely, then re-oil before fitting. Many riders keep a second filter on the shelf so a freshly oiled one is always ready.
