The ProTaper Yamaha YZ85 Rear Aluminum Sprocket - 49 Teeth - Blue is a 49-tooth rear sprocket built from 7075-T6 heat-treated billet aluminum and CNC-machined for the Yamaha YZ85, YZ80, and compatible Suzuki RM80 and RM85 models. ProTaper's Race Spec series features an angled mud groove cut into both sides of every tooth, which sheds mud during riding to help preserve power and extend sprocket life. The grooves also increase tooth surface area by up to 40% compared to competing sprockets, improving chain contact and wear. Built-in countersinks self-center the sprocket on the hub at installation, and a deep anodized finish in blue protects against corrosion. This sprocket is made in the USA.
A larger rear sprocket like this 49-tooth option lowers overall gearing, which sharpens throttle response and acceleration off the line but reduces top-end speed.
